FEBRUARY 2011
Explorer Ventures has listened to dive shops and has made big changes!
Smaller groups receive free space – 5 paid, 1 free and small groups are now offered extremely low deposits and monthly payments!
Explorer Ventures has now addressed two of the biggest challenges dive shops and agents offering group dive travel have told us they face – large deposits and group incentives. Clay McCardell, president of Explorer Ventures said, “We’ve talked to many of our long-time retail clients, and listened to what they’ve told us about the new realities of group dive travel. Our intent is for these major changes to help address the challenges they are facing, and augment their travel program. Dive travel is an important revenue generator for any dive shop, and not only for the commissions - divers who travel internationally are more likely to update their skills, and need to service their existing or purchase new dive gear. This, and the camaraderie formed by traveling together, helps dive retailers form a loyal customer base.”
Change # 1 – 5+1 - For every 5 paying guests, 1 goes free with groups of six or more. This applies to reservations traveling June 1, 2011 or beyond. There is a limit of 2 free spaces per charter. This can be used for any of Explorer Ventures’ 5 destinations worldwide.
Change #2 – Low deposit and a monthly payment option for groups of six or more. Dive shops and agents who provide group travel can now book smaller groups, and not only receive a free berth incentive but take advantage of a very low deposit and monthly payments. This translates to a dive shop being able to put together a dive trip without having large deposits due, allowing for better management of monthly cash flow while still offering dive travel to their customers.
An example of this program is:
A full charter (20 guests) aboard the Turks & Caicos Explorer II for September 2012 – deposit with $691.67, make monthly payments of $691.67 and pay the final balance 30 days before the trip.
Explorer Ventures offers 5 diving destinations in the Southern Bahamas, Galapagos, Maldives, Northeastern Caribbean and Turks & Caicos Islands.
FEBRUARY 2011 Are you looking for adventure?
Dive the remote Southeastern Bahamas!
Explorer Ventures Liveaboard Diving is offering some very unique diving experiences in 2011, with scheduled itineraries to the remote and seldom-visited Southeastern Bahamas. These islands are known as the hidden gems of the Bahamas, and offer a wealth of diving opportunities in places few have ever been. This area features stunning beaches, little evidence of civilization, and unspoiled diving very close to the mainland US.
From the first part of June 2011, the Turks & Caicos Explorer II will be taking guests to areas north and west of Providenciales, Turks & Caicos – to the islands of Mayaguana, Samana Cay, San Salvador and Conception Island.
Mayaguana, the easternmost island in the Bahamas, offers divers some of the most unspoiled coral reefs in this part of the world. The variety of species found here will amaze even the most avid diver. Shallow banks provide a habitat for productive juvenile nurseries and the Atlantic and Gulf Stream provide a perfect environment for pelagics.
Very little has been written about the Samana Cay area, but expect to be amazed! Shallow sandy areas and walls dropping to around 1,000 feet are the perfect place for shelves of pillar corals, large undepleted fish species and a variety of reef fish.
San Salvador and Conception islands have been the highlight of Explorer Ventures’ southern Bahamas itineraries for many years. There is a large number of dive sites to chose from, including swim-throughs in collapsed wall areas, huge elephant ear sponges and wire coral plus loads of turtles, reef fish and reef sharks - and frequently even hammerheads cruising in the blue.
