Years Diving (or a bit of her passion for the ocean): “Afternoons spent daydreaming at the Shedd Aquarium coupled with annual trips to coastal areas cemented my early love of the ocean. After moving to Florida and snorkeling at every opportunity, I became a certified diver in 1999. What started as a hobby quickly became an all-consuming passion, so I worked my way to divemaster with a local shop, and later became an instructor. In 2005, I found myself agreeing to move to Wyoming to work for Explorer Ventures- that first winter was a doozy!”
Favorite place to travel/dive: “I’m lucky enough to have been to all but one of our destinations (but not every itinerary) and can honestly say I love them all. The diving is so diverse, I can’t pick a favorite, though Saba/St. Kitts is probably the itinerary that makes me want to go back over and over again”.
Favorite pastime/hobby: “Other than diving- dog training, boating, travel, camping, and photography”.
Something unique or little known about her: “My husband and I are owned by a pack of German Shepherds and a fearless feline”.
Favorite quote: “The lasting pleasures of contact with the natural world are not reserved for scientists but are available to anyone who will place himself under the influence of earth, sea and sky and their amazing life” — Rachel Carson
