The Brothers, Daedalus, and Elphinstone itinerary, often referred to simply as B-D-E, focuses on three of the most famous offshore reefs in the Red Sea. These sites are known for dramatic drop-offs, deep walls, and strong pelagic activity.

Located near the Egyptian-Sudanese border, St. John’s is the southernmost group of reefs in Egypt’s Red Sea and one of the most remote diving regions accessible by liveaboard. The area consists of an expansive network of reefs, pinnacles, and underwater cave formations that create varied dive profiles throughout the week. Because of its remote location, the area sees very little boat traffic compared to northern dive regions.
Divers enjoy swim-through systems and coral formations that support dense reef fish populations. Pelagic sightings can include hammerhead sharks, manta rays, barracuda, jacks, turtles, threshers, and grey reef sharks.
Two standout sites in the region are Habili Ali and Habili Gafaar, known for their abundant soft corals, black coral formations, and large schools of pelagic fish.
St. John’s is ideal for divers who enjoy coral-rich reef diving, caves, and moderate current drift dives in a remote setting. Up to five dives per day are offered, depending on season, conditions and night dive availability.

Further south lie Zabargad Island and Rocky Island, two reef systems known for dramatic underwater landscapes and rich coral growth.
