Before we jump into 2023, let’s take a moment to look back at some of our most memorable moments from the last year and see what we’ve accomplished together.
A recap of our top highlights from 2022:
1. We added the new destination Palau and Black Pearl Explorer
In May, the modern Black Pearl Explorer joined the Fleet offering three incredible itineraries in Palau. Itineraries include Palau Classic to visit all the famous dive sites, plus two Spawning Special itineraries for divers to see the rare spawning aggregations of bump head parrot fish and red snappers.
2. We were rated #1 in Scuba Diving’s Reader’s Choice Awards
The liveaboards Turks & Caicos Explorer II (Turks & Caicos Islands) and Humboldt Explorer (Galapagos Islands) were recognized for 16 awards combined. Notably, Turks & Caicos Explorer II was rated #1 for Quality of Staff and Quality of Berths in Scuba Diving’s 2023 Reader’s Choice awards.
3. Five liveaboards in our Fleet registered to take part in Green Fin’s conservation program
The new Green Fins Hub offers enhanced and global membership for participating dive operators to conserve the marine environment. We are delighted to have been part of the pilot program with five of our liveaboards signed up as Green Fins Hub members and in various stages of completing their assessments.
4. The Island of St Kitts re-opened and Caribbean Explorer II returned to diving
For over 35 years, Explorer Ventures Fleet has offered liveaboard diving and land tours in St. Kitts nearly every week. In August, the island finally re-opened post-pandemic allowing Caribbean Explorer II to return to its waters.
5. We developed a new Dive Green conservation toolkit with free downloads
Dive Green is our Fleet’s environmental management policy. In November, we made our Dive Green and conservation materials more accessible online. Guests, groups, and shops an now download our free toolkit to read and share.
6. Our Fleet Schedules page received an upgrade
In the spring of 2022, we upgraded our fleet schedule program making it even easier to locate your preferred trip and check availability. Users can now filter by date, destination, and group size.
