What to Expect When Caribbean Diving

Climate

The best places to scuba dive in the Caribbean depend on the regional territory and season. The region has a tropical climate all year round ranging from warm to hot with two rainy seasons that occur simultaneously with the Atlantic’s hurricane season. Not all areas are heavily affected by cyclones or hurricanes so it’s advisable to check the climate patterns of the island or area you want to visit.

Sea Temperatures

The water temperatures fluctuate from 25°C to 31°C (77°F to 88°F) degrees, which is a very comfortable temperature for diving. While it may seem that you don’t need a wetsuit for those temperatures, a thin wetsuit is recommended for long periods of diving, as well as for sun exposure and protection on night dives.
